Purpose
The Olympic Development Program is a series of annual training camps held throughout the country in each of the 12 Zones. In order to be identified for participation at the National Championships, athletes are invited to register and attend training camps held within the athletes Zone. If selected, athletes will represent their Zone team at a Regional Championship and if select advance to National Championships. ODP exists to identify and prepare athletes to represent USAWP in international competition while exposing, educating, engaging and developing all USAWP athletes, coaches and referees to the vision of our Men’s and Women’s Senior National Team Coaches and High Performance Plan.
Process
  • Athlete must  be a 'Silver' or Gold' member of USAWP.
  • Athlete registers through USAWP and attends ODP camps in their zone - dates determined by Zone. The fee per camp is $200.00. Athletes only need to attend one camp to be considered.
  • Zone teams are divided in following mens/womens pipeline; Development (14U) Cadet (16U) and Youth (18U).
  • Camps are generally held on weekends for two days,  4-5 hours per day. During the camp, athletes are evaluated by Zone Coaches and National Team Staff.
  • Zone teams are selected by Zone coaches with collaboration from National Team Staffs. – Athletes receive further training and evaluation from Zone coaches.
  • Zone teams attend ODP National Championships held in the Spring – athletes compete against the best in the country. Zone coaches evaluate further and athletes compete in front of their respective pipeline team coaches.
  • National Pipeline team coaches select the top 48 athletes at the Youth and Cadet levels and the top 70 athletes at the Development level. Those athletes move on to the National Team Selection Camp (NTSC).
